A Love Story in Two Parts

You’ve been warned about French girls. They plant seeds of confusion and before you know it, they are the giant and you are Jack, navigating the string of beanstalks, the voice of an old professor echoing in your ear.

My only human interaction in Paris was when I asked a girl to give me Metro directions to Père Lachaise. She pointed me to the other side of the platform, then realized her mistake when we were opposite each other. She waved me back and shouted as the train hooted at a distance.

She was gone.

I waited on the same spot where I was supposed to be standing next to her, then boarded the next car knowing I was just in an avante garde film showing reels and reels of Paris in a dream sequence.

Writing a story about trains is the closest thing to a vacation for Jay Coral. He’s been dying to have one for months. He writes when the Muse inspires him at http://bluejayeye.blogspot.com/.
